The Faculty - Amy Addison

Amy is the Principal of Northern Dance Centre. She trained at Northern Dance Centre from the age of 3, and then full-time at Laine Theatre Arts and Laban. She is a Fellow and Examiner for the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) in Modern Theatre and Tap, and holds a Masters Degree in Dance Science. She is a Qualified Early Years Foundation Stages Teacher.
She has taught at Performers College, Elmhurst Ballet School, Merseyside Dance & Drama Centre, Dolphin Studios, SLP College, Junior and Senior Cecchetti Scholars, Arts Educational Schools Chiswick, London, Gloucester Ballet Seminars, Kate Simmons School, Bramhall School, Bradford Girls’ Grammar School, Westville House School, Moorfield School, Ghyll Royd School, Giggleswick School, Roynon Dance Centre, Southampton University and Harrogate Theatre
Publications include An Analysis of Eating Disorders in Dancers held in the ISTD Library, London, and Masters Dissertation on the psychology of motivation in dancers and teachers.
Amy has 35 years of experience in teaching children of all ages in all dance and musical theatre genres, including those with varying special needs, mental and physical disabilities.
